THE LIFE THAT PREVAILS
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15: 57
The Life God ordained for His children is a Life of victory, power, success, holiness and glory. Victory and success should be a normal experience for God’s children. It is unfortunate that constant failures, which many believers suffer, have made so many to admit that defeat is normal and victory abnormal. From God’s point of view, we are the victors, winners and conquerors.
OUR EXPERIENCE
O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me………………?
Romans 7: 24
Often our experiences as Christians are contrary to the Life which God has ordained for His children. We live far less than His expectation. Some of us have failed incessantly in our Christian walk, which makes us think that victory is unnecessary as well as impossible, thus accepting the status quo as our fate.
From the Scripture we know that, no matter how negative our experiences and weaknesses may be, God’s view about us is unchanged. Some of us have actually become aware of this Life that God wants us to live, yet find it difficult to enter into its reality. Are you ashamed of the kind of Christian life you live? Have you failed terribly in fighting against temptations? Have you struggled for a long time against storms of life and challenges? Despair no more! For the lion of Judah has prevailed.
THE NATURE OF THIS LIFE
To make our conviction experiential, we need to have a proper understanding of the nature of this Life. This Life is unshakeable and transcends all things. It is more than a Christian theory. It is not a slogan, an idea or a philosophy. This Life is a person. He manifested, He was seen and touched. This Life is not just a spiritual substance in God, but a person. He is Jesus Christ, the son of God. He is our Life, victory, wisdom, redemption, righteousness and sanctification. He is the joy, peace and rest for all who believe in Him.
Jesus saith unto Him, I am the way, the truth, and the life……………
John 14: 6
… I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10: 10
The Life God possesses in heaven is the very Life which He has imparted to us here on earth.
For as the father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the son to have life in himself.
John 5: 26
And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He that hath the son hath life; and he that hath not the son hath not life.
1 John 5: 11, 12
How else can one live victoriously in Christ, in this dark world, without the realisation that this Life of God that makes Him Omnipotent is available in full measure in our spirit.
